Product Support Technician

Title:  Product Support Technician

Reports to:  Operations Manager

Located: Bloomington, MN

Hours:  Monday – Friday

Role:

The Product Support Technician works independently within a team of professionals and performs installations, maintenance, and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems for NORAC agricultural products throughout the U.S.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform field installations, maintenance, and repairs of NORAC height control systems.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturers, dealers and customers.
  • Process submitted RMA forms.
  • Communicate directly with manufacturers, dealers and customers regarding RMA details.  
  • Evaluate NORAC equipment being returned for Warranty.
  • Present training material as needed to meet dealer/customer requirements.
  • May be asked to assist in other duties on a case by case basis.

Required Knowledge, Skill & Abilities:

  • Ability to understand hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Must be proficient with MS office applications.
  • Strong technical skills in an agricultural setting.
  • Knowledge of electro hydraulics and electronics.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Education and Experience:

  • Post-secondary technical education is preferred.
  • Agricultural background and experience with sprayers and other agricultural equipment is preferred.
  • Previous electrical or hydraulic experience.

Additional Information: 

This is a full time position.  Salary and benefits will be based on qualifications and experience.  Travel is required within the U.S.  Travel will vary on a seasonal basis and based on customer needs averaging 80% annually.

Engineering Summer Student

Title:  Engineering Summer Student

Reports to:  Vice President of Technology

Located: Saskatoon, SK CA

Hours:  Monday – Friday

Role:

The Engineering Summer Student will report to the product manager and will focus on technical customer support, assisting engineering with testing and verifying the NORAC Sprayer Boom Height Controllers.  The majority of the time will be spent serving as a technical resource for NORAC customers.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out product installations and on site troubleshooting.
  • Testing and verifying changes to the current control system algorithms.
  • Providing phone support to customers and technicians.
  • Performing field trials of hardware and software.
  • Maintaining crop test plots and the engineering test track.
  • Maintaining engineering tools and equipment.
  • Performing reliability and durability tests on components.
  • Testing hydraulic components and circuits.
  • Assisting the service and engineering departments as required.
  • Other duties as required

Required Knowledge Skill and Abilities:

  • Currently enrolled and returning to full-time studies towards a Degree in Engineering.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Able to work independently without close supervision.
  • Experience operating agricultural equipment preferred.
  • Farming background is preferred, but not required.
  • Have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Additional Information:

This position will be located at the NORAC head office in Saskatoon, Canada.

Will require some travel within Canada.

Territory Manager - Canada

Title:  Territory Manager - Canada

Reports to:  Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Service

Located: Saskatoon, SK CA

Hours:  Monday – Friday

Role:

The Territory Manager will report to the Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Service and will have a primary focus of working with NORAC’s existing dealer accounts and prospecting new accounts in Canada.  The goal of this position is to grow dealer sales by 15% annually. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assume primary management responsibility for assigned accounts including:
o   Working with existing accounts to manage all aspects of the relationship between them and NORAC.
o   Prospecting new accounts with the goal of adding new dealers to NORAC’s dealer base.
o   Providing technical support (phone and on-site) and training to dealers.
o   Managing delivery of marketing resources to dealers including brochures, promotional materials, tradeshow support, etc.
o   Ensuring exemplary communication between NORAC and the customer.
o   Providing required sales forecasts for each assigned account.
  • Attend national tradeshows and tradeshows within the assigned territory.
  • Meet with each dealer quarterly and report weekly on dealer visits.
  • Develop a relationship with NORAC’s OEM dealers (i.e: AGCO, HARDI, Hagie, etc.) with the goal of increasing NORAC’s OEM sales.
  • Assist NORAC’s Service department with phone and onsite technical support in the busy season.
  • Other duties as required.

Required Knowledge, Skill & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of markets served by NORAC.
  • Experience with hydraulics and precision agriculture equipment is an asset.
  • Account management aptitude and skills are a must.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge.

Education and Experience:

  • Undergraduate college degree preferred. 
  • 3-10 years outside engineering and/or sales experience. 
  • Agricultural background preferred but not required.

Additional Information

  • 50% to 75% annual travel is expected within North America.  May vary on a seasonal basis and based on customer needs.

OEM Account Engineer - Brazil

Role:

The OEM Account Engineer will report to the Business Development Manager - Canada and will have a primary focus of developing OEM accounts in Brazil.  This position will also serve as an engineering resource for NORAC in Brazil and will work closely with Agrosystem, NORAC’s distribution and service partner in Brazil. This position is located in Brazil.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with OEM accounts to manage all technical aspects of the relationship.
  • Carry out testing on NORAC equipment on sprayers and conduct test installations.
  • Act as the main engineering resource for NORAC in Brazil.
  • Troubleshoot and repair OEM service related issues.
  • Prepare test plans, technical documents and reports.
  • Facilitate and advance NORAC’s integration agenda with the OEM’s in Brazil by having a close working relationship with NORAC’s Engineers in Canada.
  • Ensure exemplary communication and documentation between NORAC and the customer.  This means properly documenting all meetings and communicating with every OEM contact and dealer.  Share the information with NORAC staff and supply meeting minutes to the customer within a reasonable period of time following the meeting.
  • Supply reports to management regularly including travel/work plans for next 2 weeks and meetings/results from previous week.
  • Attend tradeshows to meet with OEM customers/dealers and talk to end users.
  • Travel requirement is 50% - 75%.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skill & Abilities:      

  • Strong knowledge of markets served by NORAC.
  • Experience with hydraulics, CAN BUS, ISO BUS, and precision ag equipment is an asset.
  • Account management aptitude and skills are a must.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate in Portuguese and English.

Education and Experience:

  • Undergraduate college engineering degree required. 
  • Agricultural background preferred but not required.
